The Baltimore Orioles took the field in 1992 with a new stadium and a highly improved team. The Orioles had previously finished in last place during their final season at Memorial Stadium in 1991. In their inaugural season at Camden Yards, the Orioles would win 87 games and be on their way to becoming a perennial contender thanks to Cal Ripken Jr… the Iron Man as he would be known. Ripken would set the record here at Oriole Park for the most consecutive games played… 2,632, never missing a day at Oriole Park or Memorial Stadium until 1998, easily breaking Lou Gehrig's streak of 2,130… a number that many thought would never be broken. The 19 time All-Star and 2 time Most Valuable Player would be elected to the Hall of Fame on his first ballot in 2007.
