In 1897, work was completed on Lexington Park for a team which would eventually play here called the St. Paul Apostles. The Apostles would eventually go on to become the famed St. Paul Saints, who would feature several budding Hall of Fame players including Don Drysdale, Lefty Grove, Duke Snider and Roy Campanella. None of these players however had the privilege of playing at the Pill Box. In fact… we doubt very much that they would want that privilege. This ballpark was never meant to be a professional baseball stadium but in fact, it was (though very few still remember it).
