In 2003, the Canadian Baseball League attempted to bring an all Canadian minor league
system to the country for the first since the post WWII Minor League Baseball
boom. It was a great concept to bring many of Canada’s best ballparks together
to play against one another and stretched from Ontario to British Columbia.
Unfortunately the league would last just the single year and didn’t even finish
out the season due to poor attendance in some locations. Sadly many of these
ballparks never saw professional play again after this… but for one wonderful
summer, Canada came together to bring professional baseball to cities that had
not seen pro ball in decades. |
