American Association

Triple – A (1903 – 1962, 1969 – 1997)

The Original American Assocation was a Triple-A League that had two incarnations… one from 1903 to 1962 and another from 1969-1997. When it first disbanded in 1963, teams were dispersed to the International League and Pacific Coast League. It reformed 7 years later this time lasting 19 years before again being dispersed between the two other Triple-A Leagues. There is an American Association in existance today but it is independent and is not related to this former Triple-A Organization of Affiliated Minor League Baseball teams.
