The Class C Border League was one of several leagues in the 1940’s-1950’s that played
on both sides of the Upstate NY & Canadian Border including the Class C Provincial
League and the famed original Class C Can Am League. Why there were 3
different Class C leagues using virtually the same cities, stadiums and fan base
is confusing and the Border League could have (and probably should have) just
merged with the Provinical League and/or the Can-Am League. Many teams played
in one for a few years then moved to the other… with no change in Class or talent.
Either way… the Border League was certainly a major part of this joining
together of Canada and United States Minor League Affiliated baseball. |
