The Pioneer League first began service in 1939 based out of the “High Plains” and
the Pacific Northwest with ballparks in Montana, Idaho, Utah and Oregon. Today,
over 75 years later… the Pioneer League continues to serve this region as an
affiliated Rookie League system. Because of the mountainous terrain, these ballparks
are simple and rustic… and are well known for having some of the most
amazing views of any stadiums in the United States. Because this league is fed
by the Major League Draft… kids just graduating high school and college and
joining professional baseball for the first time… this league doesn’t begin play
until June (when High School and College let out for the summer) |
