The Arizona State League began in 1928 and by 1931, it became the Arizona-Texas League.
It would remain that way for over 2 decades until the Sunset League merged
with teams from the Arizona Texas League to form the Southwest International
League in 1951. After that disolved, the Arizona-Texas League was reformed and
with the influx of Affiliated Minor League franchises from below the border, the
league was renamed the Arizona-Mexico League. It was one of only 5 leagues which
featured Mexican ballparks and franchises which carried Major League affiliations. |
